Pelion Rise

Terms of Service

Version v1-2026-07-08. You accept these terms when you create an account. The Liability Waiver (parents, at each booking) and the Trainer Agreement (trainers, at onboarding) are part of these terms.

1. What this platform is

Pelion Rise is a marketplace that connects parents and guardians with independent youth-sports trainers for basketball and bodyweight speed & agility sessions. We verify trainer credentials, host booking and payment, and hold funds until a session is confirmed — but trainers are independent professionals, not our employees, and each session is a contract between you and the trainer.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account. Parent accounts book on behalf of their own children or children they are the legal guardian of. Athletes themselves do not hold accounts. Trainer accounts may accept bookings only after passing Tier-0 verification (government ID, background check, SafeSport training, current CPR/First-Aid/AED) and accepting the Trainer Agreement. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.

3. Booking and payment

Trainers set their own session prices. You are charged the full listed price when you book, through our payment processor (Stripe). The platform holds the funds and releases the trainer's share only after a GPS-confirmed, completed session. Pelion Rise retains a platform service fee out of the trainer's share; parents pay exactly the listed price. We do not store your card number — payment details are handled by Stripe.

4. Cancellations and refunds

Cancel 24 hours or more before the session start for a 100% refund. Inside 24 hours, 50% is refunded and the remainder compensates the trainer's reserved time. If the trainer cancels — at any time, for any reason — you are always refunded 100%. The exact dollar amounts are shown in the cancellation dialog before you confirm, and the same math is enforced on our servers.

5. No-shows and reporting an issue

If an athlete does not arrive within a reasonable grace period, the trainer may mark the session a no-show and is paid for the reserved time; you will be notified and may contest it. If anything about a session was wrong — it didn't happen, it was unsafe, it wasn't as described — report an issue within 48 hours of the session start. The trainer's payout freezes immediately and a human reviews within one business day. Resolutions can include full or partial refunds, including clawing back a payout that has already been released.

6. The liability waiver

Every booking requires electronic acceptance of our Liability Waiver & Release, which covers assumption of athletic risk and emergency medical authorization. The waiver is part of these terms; read it at /waiver before booking.

7. Conduct

No off-platform payment for sessions arranged here — the payment protections above only work when payment flows through the platform, and circumventing them is grounds for account termination. Harassment, discrimination, or any behavior that endangers a minor results in immediate suspension and, where appropriate, a report to authorities. Reviews must reflect a genuine completed booking.

8. Reviews and messages

Reviews you post are public and tied to a completed booking. In-app messages are private between the participants, but we may review message content when investigating a reported safety issue or dispute. Do not share content you do not have the right to share.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove any account that violates these terms, presents a safety risk, or lets required credentials lapse (for example, an expired CPR certification automatically pauses a trainer's bookings). You may close your account at any time; bookings already paid follow the cancellation policy above.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is." We verify trainer credentials at onboarding and re-check expirations, but we do not supervise individual sessions and cannot guarantee outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pelion Rise's total liability for any claim arising from the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the booking giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved through our issue-report process will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.

12. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we bump the version number and date on this page. Material changes are announced in-app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms: reach us via your account's Messages inbox (a public support email publishes with our launch domain).

Plain-language summary: you pay when you book, the trainer is paid only after a verified session, the refund math is published and enforced in code, and a human reviews anything you report. The legal text above is what binds — but it was written to match how the app actually behaves.
